Hopefully any queries or concerns can be answered here, however, please do not hesitate to contact us further if you have any unanswered questions

1. What is the legislation behind keeping birds of prey in captivity?

We at Hilltop BoP have all legislation concerns covered, by means of Article 10s issued by DEFRA. This ensures that the birds are captive bred and are suitable for display. As well as Performing Animals Licence

2. Ethically is it fair to display these creatures, and keep them in captivity?

Much like a dog or a cat, these birds have been captive bred, it is unlawful to remove a bird from the wild. As such, these birds are firstly very comfortable around people, and secondly, many of them are so dependent on people that they would not survive in the wild.

3. Do you hold public liability insurance?

We do, we are covered by Cliverton’s Insurance, to the amount of £3'000'000

4. In the experience days, how big are the groups?

We strive to keep things as personal as possible for you, allowing no more than six participants per day. With a maximum of only one spectator per participant (a small charge will be incurred for a spectator).

5. Why are we only allowed one spectator?

We would like this experience to be a nice personal day for you, which means, if we were at capacity, each with a spectator, we would have 12 people on site. If we allowed two spectators per participant, there would be 18 people per day, and so on. This is the type of scenario we would like to avoid, and keep the day as focussed around you as possible.

6.  What type of footwear should be worn on an experience day?

We are based in the country in Herefordshire, so we would strongly recommend walking boots, or welly boots. Unfortunately we cannot accept responsibility of damaged trainers or stiletto shoes.

7. What if it is raining on the day?

Unfortunately if it is raining, the day would have to be postponed until a later date. As our birds will not fly in heavy rain or strong winds. To find out about the weather on your day, please call on the morning before setting off, this is the only time we can get an accurate reading of the weather.

8. Do you have a cancellation policy?

Yes, if you book a show with us, or an experience day, we require a minimum of 5 days notice, or a re-booking fee will apply.
